ER24 medics arrived on the scene at 17:12 to find the boy lying in the middle of the road. The vehicle that had struck him was found parked a short distance away.

Medics assessed the boy and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The driver of the light motor vehicle fortunately escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
