Last Wednesday evening, Dr Anna Mokgokong was officially inaugurated as the North-West University’s chancellor. She is the first woman chancellor and the third chancellor of the institution.
As the chancellor, Dr Mokgokong serves as the head of the university, and all qualifications awarded by the university are presented by her.
She possesses an extensive CV and multiple qualifications. She is also a social activist, among other things and has widespread knowledge and abilities in entrepreneurship.
Dr Mokgokong says being a chancellor is a calling. “My mantra is: ‘Raise your hand, be seen and be counted.’ For me it is a calling for community service, to which I dedicate my life,” she says.
