A horrific example of brutal violence and cruelty awaited the personnel of the Parys SPCA when they were called out to Schonkenville just after 14:00 on Friday, 6 September.
Upon her arrival, Insp. Maggie Singh and her personnel, found a Rottweiler cross male that had been hacked with a panga while the owner was at work.

The dog was rushed to the vet. Because of the seriousness of the injuries, the animal had to be put to sleep.
What is even more shocking, says Insp Singh, is that this is not the first case of such barbaric brutality.
Anyone who can help with information regarding the perpetrators, please contact the SPCA on 072 894 4061. Calls can be made anonymously.
