Vandalism the reason for sewer spill, says Ngwathe

While Gazette has been reporting the past two months on the constant sewage spill at sewer pump stations in Ngwathe, the municipality on Wednesday 4 September said, that it has noted vandalism at the sewer pump station in Mbeki section, Tumahole.
Ngwathe spokesperson, Steve Naale, said electricity supply cable was stolen and an electric panel box was subsequently damaged.
He said this has caused malfunction of the pump station, resulting in sewer spillage.
Naale said a case was registed with the SAPS and that the technical team is working on fixing the pump station.
He asked that anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of perpetrators can contact Mr Mokete Phele, manager water and sanitation, on 083 271 5507.
