The South African Mint released a new R5 coin today, Monday 26 August, themed ‘Let us live and strive for freedom’

This will be the last coin in the range of the SA25 commemorative circulation coins.

South Africans should be able to find these coins in their change from retail stores and banks.

The new commemorative circulation coins, like all other circulation coins, are ‘normal’ circulation coins that are only worth their face value – R5.
