Eskom warns of false recruitment advertisement

Suspicious activities can be reported by calling the Eskom Fraud Hotline on 0800 11 2722 or email: investigate@eskom.co.za.

 

Eskom this week warned the public of a false recruitment advertisement being distributed at various locations in the Free State and the Vaal Triangle area.

 

The specific scam advertises false jobs at Eskom’s Lethabo Power Station in Viljoensdrif/Deneysville in the Free State. Similar advertisements might have also been shared through social media platforms and have one or more of these similarities or red flags: the use of incorrect or old Eskom logo; money being requested from the applicant by the alleged recruiter; as well as grammatical errors and poor sentence construction on the advertisements.

Members of the public are advised to only use www.eskom.co.za to search and apply for jobs advertised at Eskom. The public is also reminded that Eskom will never request an application fee from job seekers and encourages those who have been scammed in this particular manner are urged to report the matter to the SAPS.
