2019 Elections: What you should know

Take note of these dates.

The 2019 National elections is regarded as one of the most important elections since 1994. On 8 May 2019 South Africans will have the opportunity to cast their votes.

13 March 2019 at 17:00 was the cut-off date for the submissions of the list of candidates and payment of election deposits by political parties.

19 March 2019 is the cut-off date for notice of non-compliance by parties in terms of the candidate lists

30 532 Applications have already been received by the IEC of South Africans wanting to cast their votes in foreign countries. Of this 29 334 have been approved. Most applications came from South Africans in London amd Dubai.

Special vote casting on 6 and 7 May 2019.
