Two people died and another two sustained critical injuries after an accident in the early morning hours on the N1 approximately 8 kilometres from the Kroonvaal Plaza.

According to a Netcare 911 report they responded to a serious collision at 05:28 on Wednesday 26 December. Two vehicles were involved in the accident.
The two seriously injured people  had to be airlifted by helicopter to hospitals with another three people who  sustained moderate injuries.

Once stabilized all the patients were transported to hospitals for further treatment.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the SAPS who were on scene.
