During the by-election for Ngwathe’s Ward 11, held on November 14, the ANC retained it’s seat it won in the 2016 Municipal Elections, with 76.47% of the votes cast compared to 83.22% in the 2016 Municipal Elections.
Voter turnout for the ANC’s Patricia Tlhobelo was 40,71%.
The by-election followed the death of the ANC Ward 11 councillor earlier this year.
The Ngwathe Municipality includes the towns of Parys, Vredefort, Koppies, Edenville and Heilbron.
