Water wasted – the price we pay for crime

The price we pay for crime

A water fountain – most welcome in this heat, you might think. But no – this is the price we pay for crime.

Thousands of litres of water being wasted since this morning, and the reason – water meter theft.

This meter was stolen in Bredel Street just after 12:00. It has been reported several times today but still after almost 6 hours, no plumbing team from the Ngwathe Municipality to attend to the problem.

The neighbour across the street waited two weeks after his meter was stolen before municipality attended to it.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
