The DA leader in the Free State Legislature, Dr Roy Jankielsohn (second from left), visited Parys last Wednesday to address a public meeting. He outlined the DA’s plans for responsible land reform.

Seen with him on the photo  are from left DA Ngwathe councillors, Jaco la Cock and Carina Serfontein, and the party’s candidate in the Ward 12 by-election, Andries Vrey, a Parys businessman.

The by-election for Ward 12 is this week (Wednesday 5 September)  with four candidates contesting. They were Andries Vrey (DA), Phillip van der Merwe (Vryheidsfront Plus), Peggy Nonyana (ANC) and Lehlohonolo Thomas Matsobane (EFF).

There are three voting stations for registered voters in Ward 12 – Parys Library, Parys Town Hall and AME St Leornard Church. Voting stations will be open from 07:00 to 21:00 on Wednesday 5 September.
