Carol Grobbelaar of Vanderbijlpark writes:
While my daughter was shopping in a clothing shop in Vaal Mall on June 2, she was pick-pocketed and her cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy S5, was taken along with her driver’s licence and medical aid card. When I approached the store manager to view any camera footage I was told that they, after numerous requests, do not have cameras in the store.
I cannot believe that a store of that size does not have any security cameras, not only to protect the clients but as a method to stop shoplifting. I have since learned that that area is a hot spot for this kind of criminal activity. Beware!
