On the 3rd of March 2018, Free Home Foundation will be hosting a Cancer Free Society Walk at Jackpot Park, Tumahole Parys.
Hereby they will be focussing on World Cancer Day, where “we remember the fallen, honour the survivors and support and encourage the fighters of cancer.”
The walk is also aimed to reduce the stigma associated to chronic illness and allowing the community to accept those affected, and struggling the fight against Cancer.
They will be raising funds for women, men and children infected and affected by cancer.
The organisers are Salmina Matsheole Seseng, Seipati Phumzile Cholota and Kele Tloubatla.
Salmina is originally from Kroonstad, but is currently residing at Tumahole. In  2000, her mother succumbed to HIV/Aids, because during those times, getting treatment was hard and expensive.
Matsheole saw her mother suffer due to her illness. Growing up without her mother was hard for her.
Seipati Phumzile Cholota, is also a resident of Tumahole. She has seen people in her community affected by cancer, and that touched her so much that, together with her friend, Matsheole, they decided to register the NPO, Free Home Foundation, to educate and make people aware, on all health related matters, and more particularly, cancer.
Kele Tloubatla, is a liver cancer survivor, from Alberton.
She was diagnosed with Stage 3 HCC in 2013. She is a mother, a young legal African woman, and founder of #CancerMustFall Foundation. As Kele’s goal is education, awareness and caring for cancer patients, she has found common ground under Free Home Foundation, and is living proof that cancer can be beaten.
Any sort of donation will be welcomed.
For more information please contact Matsheole on 071 870 0914 or Seipati on 060 716 7552.
