CAR HiJACKINGS ON THE R57 AND THE R 82 ROUTE

The Police in Zamdela are investigating a couple of cases of Car hijackings that occurred on the R57 and the R82 routes passing Zamdela driving towards Vereeniging/Koppies or Heilbron /Deneysville.

It is alleged that the suspects are targeting vehicles driving pass the Zamdela four ways stop on the R57 and the R82 road, the suspects stand there disguising as pedestrians looking for a lift.  When the drivers of the vehicles offer them a lift they overpower them and force them onto the back seat at gun point.  They drive off with the driver and then drop off the driver next to the road where ever they wish to and take the vehicle.

The suspects are mostly targeting vehicles that are occupied by the drivers only.  The drivers are warned to lock all the doors and windows when driving past that road.  Anyone who may have any information on these car jackings is requested to contact the investigating officer Warrant Officer Leon De Klerk on 072 484 9046 or 016 974 6117
