Watch our tutorial to find out how you can make your own household essentials from the things we usually throw away! In this video, we are demonstrating how to make a desk organiser as well as a pencil case.

First, gather your materials

For the organiser:

  • A cardboard box, eg. porridge or breakfast foods
  • Newspaper to protect the working area
  • A pen
  • A ruler
  • Spray paint
  • Craft paint
  • Paint brush or sponge
  • A stencil
  • Masking tape or other decorative material
  • Regular tape to close any open areas

For the pencil case:

  • 2 plastic bottles of the same size
  • Newspaper to protect the working area
  • A knife or scissors
  • Spray paint
  • Zipper (must close around the circumference of the bottles)
  • Glue gun or staples (staples work better with material and plastic)
  • Masking tape or other decorative material
