The Potchefstroom police are investigating a shoplifting case after a man in security guard uniform was arrested for allegedly stealing a block of cheese last Friday.

According to WO Mpho Manyoba, the police spokesperson, the complainant was on duty and was standing at the main door of the shop in Nelson Mandela Drive at 18:55 when he heard the alarm go off. He saw the unknown male in a security uniform and asked to search him. He found the 200 g of cheese with a scanner R-tag in his possession. The price of the cheese was R24,99.
‘He was arrested and appeared in court on Monday,’ said Manyoba.
