eNatis system still down, public to make use of Vredefort offices

The Provincial Traffic Testing Station in Parys is still offline with notices asking members of the public to make use of the Sasolburg and Vredefort offices for all transactions.

The Provincial Traffic Testing Station in Parys is still offline with notices asking members of the public to make use of the Sasolburg and Vredefort offices for all transactions.
Upon enquiry Mr T.C. Ubane, Director: Transport Admin and Licensing at the Department of Police Roads and Transport, said that eNaTIS challenges are currently experienced at various Testing Stations within the Free State Province causing system down times.
Ubane said there were numerous engagements entered into between the National Department of Transport, the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), and TASIMA, which is the current NaTIS service provider, to resolve the outstanding issues with regard to the handing over process.
The Constitutional Court Judgment of 9 November 2016 ruled that the eNaTIS system must be handed over to the National Department of Transport and its agency RTMC.
TASIMA has not been cooperative in the handing over process, says Ubane, which is resulting into hardware and software issues not being attended to. He said that the Department is however still persuading TASIMA to reach a consensus to resolve the prevailing impasse, which is hampering service delivery.
As a contigency plan the department has advised the public where the system is down,  to go to their nearest testing stations, e.g Parys Community would be assisted at the Vredefort Testing Station.
The Vredefort Testing Station is open Monday to Friday 07:30 till 14:00.
The department apologised for any inconvenience caused.
