Have you been a victim? Help find this man

He has allegedly conned people in various ways. In some instances, he claimed and pretended to be a meat seller and disappeared with the victim’s money when he was supposed to deliver. On the day of the delivery, he would come up with a story that there is a problem with the delivery and would deliver the next day, only to find out that there would be no delivery of meat at all though he has already taken the victim’s money.

The police in Free State are appealing to the people of Bloemfontein, Parys and Phalaborwa to come forward with information in connection with Mr Andre Lamprecht who was arrested and linked to several cases of theft, fraud and distortion.

In other cases that were reported, Lamprecht is alleged to have claimed to have owned 1 600 cows to get his victim’s attention.  A few days later, he would phone the same person he told about the cows to tell him about a trip he is having with his friends and if the victim is interested, he could come along.  He first started by telling them that it would cost R2000 for the trip and if the victim pays, he would tell him he made a mistake about the price and said they should deposit R1000 more.

Days would then go past without the victim hearing from him and when they did meet, he would come up with a story that the trip was delayed since he had to attend to personal problems.  This would go on until the victim is tired of his stories and cases would be registered with the police as he failed to refund them.

He used different names and surnames to different victims. Some of the first names he used are Andre, Andrew, Andrie, Charlie and Lappies and some of the surnames are Lambrecht, Lampreched, Lamprecht and Lanpeched.

Although three cases are already registered and pending against Mr Lamprecht, the police are of the belief that he could have defrauded more people with the same modus operandi in other places not mentioned above.

The police are therefore calling on anyone who might have been a victim of Mr Lamprecht to come forward so that more evidence can be collected and more cases could be opened if necessary.  Anyone with information is requested to contact Warrant Officer Karin Jacobs of the SAPS Provincial War Room on 051 412 6707 or 072 241 7224.
