Parys parkrun – making it 100 this Saturday

Parys parkrun is celebrating its 100th event this Saturday, 1 October 2016. The organisers are encouraging the public to come along, bring family and friends and help set a new record number of runners and walkers. There have only been more than 100 participants four times since the inception and the organisers are hoping to break all records at this celebratory event. Post-parkrun cupcakes are included.

Parys parkrun is celebrating its 100th event this Saturday, 1 October 2016. The organisers  are encouraging the public to come along, bring family and friends and help set a new record number of runners and walkers.
There have only been more than 100 participants four times since the inception and the organisers are hoping to break all records at this celebratory event. Post-parkrun cupcakes are included.
There is no need to register – simply arrive at the entrance to Mimosa Gardens before the start at 08:00 on Saturday morning and set off when the rest of the pack does. If 5 km seems like too daunting a challenge, consider volunteering to do simple, fun tasks. For the environmental types, join in the pre-event   riverside clean-up.
Also, Parys parkrun and Rotary are once again calling for donations of “retired” running shoes. Those old takkies at the back of the cupboard? They will make a great difference in the lives of runners who cannot    afford to buy them.
