‘Love one another’ by Halalisani Shoba

This world was meant to be a better place for all. We have enough space to show love towards each other.

This world has gone straight to the dogs; this world is slowly but surely losing its glory. We’ve got no one to blame but ourselves. It is so disturbing and disappointing to see people behaving in a manner that they are behaving. People have lost the state of being aware of and responsive to one’s surroundings. We no longer care about each other, we have the lost the essence of caring. What happened to rationality?

I don’t understand why we have so much hatred towards each another. It seems like, we now hate the idea that we are all human beings. I swear one day, ‘animals’ will laugh at us, if they are not doing so already. It is okay to differ in many things but we don’t have to differ in loving each another. Don’t we see the similarities among us? Let us love one another. The moment you show love to someone else, you instant become a better person.

Few hours ago, I had a conversation with my friend from Rwanda. We ended up discussing social media. It’s funny enough because all along, I thought its only in our country where people are intolerant with each other. I’m only mentioning social media because for some time now, I have been noticing that people are misusing that platform. If you want to see how much people hate each other, buy yourself enough data and spend the entire day browsing through social media. We just no longer care. You can tell from a distance, that some people have lost hope when it comes to humanity. Love is not even in their daily vocabulary.

I believe that not all is lost. To those who still hold onto the ability to tolerate the existence of opinions even if they disagree with, may they continue to do so. As I have mentioned that, it is okay to differ in many things but it is not okay to hate each other. We owe it to ourselves, to love one another. This world was meant to be a better place for all. We have enough space to show love towards each other. Love one another.
