There was great jubilation as the team captain was presented with the winning trophy and the players received their gold medals.

City Football Club (FC) won the U/17 Tournament that took place on Monday last week (Human Rights Day) at Sithembile Stadium. City FC scored two goals and kept a clean sheet against Ukhahlaza FC to win the final 2-0. There was great jubilation as the team captain was presented with the winning trophy and the players received their gold medals. Sibusiso Sikhakhane, the organiser of the tournament, commented that: “The main aim of this competition is so that our young soccer players can showcase their talent on the field. “When we were growing up, no one nurtured our passion for soccer, so these youngsters are lucky that we are able to help them climb the ladder.” He further cited that: “My only plea is that, as young boys, you stay away from drugs. “You need to take better care of yourselves and do things that will make you proud of yourselves. “We will be having an U/13 tournament soon.”
