The Golf Club thanks all those who braved the most welcome rain over the weekend and played in the mug and Club Champs. The winners in the mug were Aaron Mbatha in the A Division on a good 68 nett and Bertie Venter on a good 66 nett. Best gross was carded by Mark Nero on 71 gross. Prizes were won by Mark Nero (first on 65 nett) and Bertie Venter (second on 66 nett). Two-clubs were carded by Xolani Shezi on no. 13 par 4, Lionel Shaw on no. 16, Mark Nero on no. 8, Joe Khumalo on no. 16, Aaron Mbatha on no. 8, and S Ndlovu on no 12.
The Club Champs winners were: A Division – Dr Sifiso Kunene on 159 gross; B Division – Mandla Mthetwa on 173 gross. Welcome to new playing member Xolani Shezi. Match-play A Division: Dr Sifiso Kunene vs Cyril Mkhwanazi; S Ndlovu vs M Sithole; A Mbatha vs P Boooysen; G Robson vs L Adam. B Division: M Mthethwa has a bye. Rob Streak vs Hamish Grierson; C Chawanda vs Xolani Shezi; JJ du Plessis vs Bruce Meyer.
The first round will be played on November 14. Dave’s competition Cyril Mkhwanazi on 24 points won the Dave’s Competition on Wednesday, played over 11 holes in the form of an IPS. Blessing Chiwaya was second on 22 points on a count-out from Dr Sifiso.
SPCA Golf Day
The annual SPCA Golf Day will be played on Saturday in the form of a 4BBB Stableford. This is always a wonderful sponsored day, so please get out and support the SPCA.
