Blackrock Casino’s Wine and Dine Event

October 30 – To much anticipation, Blackrock Casino is reviving its monthly wine and dine event at 6.30 for 7pm. Blackrock Casino will be hosting the Nederburg Wine Estate wines this month, paired with Chef Gary’s mouthwatering dishes. There will be 5 different wines to taste, 4 of which will be paired with dishes to complement its flavours. Due to Covid-19 regulations, there will be a maximum of 40 tickets available only, so book now to avoid disappointment! Tickets are available at R295 pp.

SAVE THE DATE: The next wine and dine evening is planned for November 27, so ensure you diarise the date now!

Oval Track racing

October 31 – In honour of all frontline workers, the Newcastle Raceway is hosting a social event from 6pm. All clubs are welcome, to a maximum of 500 people as per Covid-19 regulations. Tickets are R50 for adults, R25 for children under two, R10 per car and R25 for pensioners (with provided proof). You can purchase tickets from the Oval Track on the day of the race.

Arbor Park Craft Fair

October 31 – A craft fair will take place at the Newcastle Highlanders Rugby Club, in Arbor Park, from 9am to 2pm. There will be live entertainment, food stalls, a cash bar, yoga classes, a tea garden and a photo booth, with tons to buy before the holidays, including jewellery, candles, delicious local food and sweet treats, crafts, furniture and more. Equestrian Club

October 31 – The Newcastle Equestrian Club (NEC) will host its annual general meeting at 2pm. For more information, call Natalie on 083 789 2653.

8th Worldwide Aquathon

November 14 – Swim Studio will host the 8th Worldwide Aquathon at its studio from 8.30am to 12pm noon. Entries close on November 5 (protocols and T’s and C’s apply). Limited space is available due to social distancing. The entry fee is R60, and ALL entry fees and donations go to La Gratitude Newcastle. The successful event promotes healthy water exercise which bears no impact on joints and is suitable for all adults. Residents are urged to support this community upliftment initiative and burn some calories while doing so! For more information, call 071 683 2285.

Invitation to Spiritual walk – JULOOS

November 1 – JIARAT is having its spiritual walk for the celebration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace be upon him) Birth. The walk will begin at 10am and end at 11am, starting and ending at the Boundary Road Mosque via Centre St, Amanat Centre and St Bruno Street. During this walk, participants will be praising the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). All participants will adhere to Covid-19 protocols.
