New GWM P Series bakkie confirmed for South Africa

Great Wall Motors has announced that it will launch its new P Series bakkie in late November this year.

Set to be sold through the brand’s subsidiary to Great Wall Motor Corporation, Haval, the P Series will be available in 16 derivatives in South Africa and SADC countries.
The variants will range from Single Cab base model 4X2 Turbo Diesel and 4×4 Manual transmissions right up the spectrum to Double Cab 4X2 Turbo Diesel Manual and Automatic transmissions to 4X4 Turbo Diesel Manual and Automatic transmission versions
According to GWM, the P Series bakkie raises the bar for the Chinese manufacturer to a new level of space, comfort, performance, safety, technology and reliability, featuring massively increased interior and exterior dimensions.

Inside, it comes with full leather interiors, including the doors. It also features personalised intelligent interconnectivity, voice-controlled entertainment, self-adaptive cruise control and smart cruise control support, multi-function seats, rear self-tensioning seatbelts in the double cab.
Safety comes courtesy of lane-keeping (change) assistance, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, front armoured double-layer steel beams for strength and rigidity, Front and Rear PDC with rear camera on double cab derivatives and up to 7 Airbags.

It is powered by an all-new 2.0-litre TD engine mated to an 8-speed ZF auto gearbox or a six-speed manual transmission. 4X4 models feature ESP intelligent 2-speed TOD (torque on demand) 4-wheel drive systems and diff locks as standard.
The pricing will be announced closer to its local launch.
