Why are advent calendars so popular?

Advent calendars include paper doors that open to reveal an image, Bible verse, or piece of chocolate.

Advent calendars are believed to be a long-standing tradition in many families, leading up to the excitement of the Christmas holiday and Christmas Day itself (December 25).

Advent calendars begin on December 1 and mark the 24 days before Christmas, the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas. Advent’s meaning is ‘coming’, which is also translated as the coming of Jesus into the world.

Christians may use the four Sundays and weeks of Advent, preparing and remembering the real meaning of Christmas.

Many families are part of various different religions and they find pleasure in seeing what they consider is what they live by and believe in, every day, in a form of a calendar. Many calendars may feature the latest toys, beauty products and so much more.
