Moana meets MJ at dancing spectacular

"Dancing gives individuals freedom of expression."

Disney versus Jackson opened up two different worlds for the audience, during Danceology’s annual showcase.
The show started off with a song from the 2016 Disney movie Moana and worked its way through an array of different movie songs.
The second half of the show brought Michael Jackson to life, with dancers of all ages echoing his lyrics and most famous dance moves.
Danceology is a unique school run by Psychological Councillor, Nadine Pillay, who has a wellness practice in Vryheid.
Nadine explained she has danced since the age of 12.
At university level, she participated in Latin and ballroom dancing under the guidance of Dave Campbell (a judge of Strictly Come Dancing).
Nadine believes dancing has therapeutic benefits and gives children and adults a tool to cope with life’s challenges.
She explained the first dance of the showcase Moana was actually inspired by yoga.
“Dancing gives individuals freedom of expression.”
Nadine emphasised dance could teach discipline, confidence, culture and etiquette within individuals, and she used grieving and bullying as examples where dancing could help a person heal and deal with their emotions.
Danceology students also competed in the annual Eisteddfod in Harrismith this year, and did extremely well. “Danceology is indeed an environment where groups of all ages can express themselves and have fun while doing it.”
