‘Popps’ leaves the crowd in stitches

Performing on stage in Newcastle, he reminisced on his childhood, how he grew up and all the experiences of his life to that point.

Comedian, Mpho Popps Modikoane left the crowd in stitches with his latest comedy set last Saturday.

No stranger to TV screens and with a love for making people laugh, the comedian performed in front of eager comedy fans at Blackrock Casino on September 28.

Popps hosted his Black in My Day tour in Newcastle, accompanied by two other comedians, Tsitsi Chiumya and Abuti Lolo. Popps embarked on his first ever one-man national tour in June, and aims to visit over 14 cities and venues across the country.

Popps’s comedy journey began on the national comedy search TV show So You Think You’re Funny? a platform which gave him the audience and reach he needed to put himself out there as a professional comedian.

Performing on stage in Newcastle, he reminisced on his childhood, how he grew up and all the experiences of his life to that point.

The audience was definitely entertained, erupting in gales of laughter numerous times during Popps’ performance.
