Experts believe that buyers need to make a move

Buying property in Durban is the right move, according to experts within the property market, but they are warning that those who sit on the fence now may regret it as the year progresses.

Buying property in Durban is the right move, according to experts, but the window to get the best possible bargains is shrinking on a daily basis. To stay informed on all matters related to the property market, it is a wise move to check out the Private Property website on a regular basis, as they not only have listings of property from around the country, but tips from the pros as well.

They recently chatted to a whole bunch of property experts from around the country regarding their outlook for 2019, and with a number of positive signs on the horizon, their advice on approaching the property market was clear.

The previous year has coughed up some really tough times, and the property market endured a particularly difficult period with all of the uncertainty around land reform, as well as the struggling economy. However, stability is what will make all the difference, as it brings back consumer confidence.

With elections set to take place later this year, the experts believe that it could mark the start to recovery, and as the market currently favours the buyers, it means that if you are in the position to purchase, now would be the ideal time to strike.

Paul Stevens, who is the CEO of Just Property, said, “We are in a buyer’s market and this will continue through most of 2019. Those who qualify for finance or who are able to buy for cash will be in a good position to take advantage of the current conditions. Most of the property sales activity in the past year has been in the R300 000 to R1 500 000 range. During the course of the coming year, I expect this to continue.”
