Vryheid woman does her bit for those in need

A single mother from Lakeside took it upon herself to show members of the community that you can make a difference with the little that you have.
Seeing the plight of the children in her community who often went to bed without food, Rhoda Limburgh decided to start a soup kitchen within the New Lakeside community.
Having started the kitchen almost a year ago, Rhoda is currently feeding close to 200 children.
“A few months after I started the kitchen I noticed that some of the girls were not attending school on the days when they had their periods as they did not have pads. I took it upon myself to start up a drive to help them get pads,” said Rhoda.
Although running the kitchen is not easy as Rhoda depends on her single income to ensure that all the children are fed, she is still rests happy knowing that she is doing something wonderful for the community.
