Prayers to halt police killings hosted at Full Gospel Church

The killing of police officers is a terrible blight on our country

A prayer service to bring to an end the killing of police officers was held at  the Full Gospel Church this morning. The month of September was declared as national prayer safety month in 2014 by the National Commissioner, General General Khehla John Sitole,  This prayer day is aimed at increasing safety awareness and highlighting measures to reduce attacks on and the murder of police officials and guidance in our efforts to fight crime and criminals effectively.

Fikile Sithole, chairperson of  the Dundee CPF, cluster cited that “the recent shooting of police officers is a terrible blight on our nation – we need prayer, we have to ask for God’s intervene and protect them. I am disappointed that not many joined us today and we thank those who attended”, she concluded.

Pastor Gerrie of the Full Gospel Church, who is also a policeman, said  d that “I pray for police officers all over South Africa as I lost my father who was a policeman when I was only eight years old, he died in the line of duty. We need to pray for those who protect us.”

Pastor Hlatshwayo prayed for all the police officers that attended the prayer meeting.
