The RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner which sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912.
During the ship’s maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City, USA, she collided with an iceberg, and of the estimated 2 224 passengers and crew on board, there were more than 1 500 fatalities.
