The Securitas depot robbery, as it has come to be known, was the largest cash robbery in the history of Britain with the amount of £53 000 000 being stolen from one of the Securitas depots in Tonbridge, Kent. Today this amount would be around R867 948 958.48 in South Africa.
The robbery took place around 6.30pm on the evening of February 22, 2006. The robbers abducted and threatened several staff members and their families at the Securitas Cash Management Ltd depot in Vale Road. The robbery ended at approximately 2.45 am. Throughout the heist, the staff members were left locked up in cash cages. However, one staff member was able to escape and freed the rest.

The gang members convicted for the robbery were: Lea Rusha (35), Stuart Royle (49), Jetmir Bucpapa (26), Roger Coutts (30) and Emir Hysenaj (28).
