The search as on, as talent show moves into round three auditions

Round three of the Newcastle Mall’s Be a Star talent search was well underway last Friday.

Shoppers stopped to show their support for the performances, from singers to dancers and even models who displayed their talent to a tough audience.

Marketing manager at the Newcastle Mall, Beulah Rajkumar said they received close to 300 entries so far.

Contestants from all ages auditioned and entrants have one last chance as the last round of auditions will be held this Friday, December 1 at the Edgars Court from noon to 3pm.

Registration forms are available on the day of the audition.

Winners can look forward to the following prizes:

– First winner in each category will receive R1 000 in vouchers

– Runners-up will receive R 500 each in vouchers

– Best singer will have the opportunity to perform and gain exposure at the 2018 Newcastle Winter Festival

– The overall winner will receive a whooping R10 000 bursary sponsored by Boston College

Consolation prizes include:

– Dancers: Vouchers for three dance classes sponsored by Strawberry Dance Studio

– Modelling: Three modelling lesson vouchers sponsored by Figures Modelling Finesse Newcastle

– Music: Instrument lessons sponsored by Rhythm Music School.

Finalists will face-off at the finale, for the ultimate title of the winner of the Newcastle Mall’s Be a Star competition.

The final show will take place on December 6 at the Game Court at the Newcastle Mall from 6pm to 9pm.
