Paddadam Market Day – ‘What a wonderful day it was’
Doug Grewar describes the event as an even bigger success than the last one, with 56 stands and over 700 adult visitors through the gates for the well-supported event.
PATRONS flocked to the Paddadam on Saturday for the second Paddadam Family Market Day.
The weather played its part, with sunny skies and warm weather setting the scene for a beautiful day out with friends and family and what better surroundings for this than the idyllic Paddadam, which has become a popular recreational spot for the community since its restoration began in 2013!
Doug Grewar describes the event as an even bigger success than the last one, with 56 stands and over 700 adult visitors through the gates for the well-supported event.
“A big thanks to Marlize [Harmse] for organizing the Market Day and to our stalwart, Oom Gert, for controlling the gate and to the rest of the team,” wrote Doug on social media. “I asked Chris van Eden to help Gert and he did a great job…”
Chairman of Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch, Andrè Rheder extended his gratitude to Vryheid’s local police for keeping an eye on the grounds and proceedings while the Neighbourhood Watch team were taking part in the market day to raise funds for their organisation.
Following the second successful market day of its kind, Riana Meiring also complimented the team and the community on social media, saying, “After a beautiful Paddadam flea market, with hundreds of visitors, the park is clean and free of any litter! Well done, Vryheid! What a wonderful day it was.”
