BOHEMIAN Chic was the theme for what some guests have described as “the wedding of the year” last Saturday as Natasha Badenhorst and Kay Mostert finally tied the knot at Villa Beryl Guesthouse.
Even more prominent than the stylish, but laid back atmosphere that was put together by popular local designer, Hendrik Jansen van Rensburg, was the lingering ambience of 14 years worth of love that projected from the happy couple to their guests.
Kay met Natasha at her father’s tattoo parlour many years ago, recalls Natasha fondly. “He walked in with his Durban attitude and I gave him attitude right back,” she laughs. “He kept coming to visit me at the shop,” she adds, “which could be the reason why he has so many tattoos now.”
Kay built up the courage to ask Natasha out and they hit it off from there. That was fourteen years ago, and despite the usual relationship ups and downs, the couple have worked through it all and are just as in love as the day they found each other.
Natasha describes the day Kay proposed three years ago, “The whole family went to Klets one day for lunch,” she recalls. “We were about to eat and I opened my serviette and the ring fell out. When I looked up at Kay, he was down on one knee and boom! That’s how it happened… And now we’re married.”
Teresa Turkington, mother of the bride, would like to thank all who assisted in making the occasion an amazing event.
“We’d like to thank Alzan and her staff from the guesthouse, as well as Regine Victor – it was a pleasure working with her, Jeanine Theron for the food and a big thank you to Hendrik Jansen van Rensburg who put it all together. We’d also like to thank the band, Packet o’ Peanuts.“
Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Mostert, on your wedding and may you be blessed with a lifetime of love and happiness.
