English is one of the most commonly used languages in the world, but how vast is your vocabulary?
Here are six words you might not know even existed:
1. Nudiusterian
While one might think it refers to a nudist from another planet, Nudiusterian means the day before yesterday.
2. Hobbledehoy
This word is as awkward as it sounds, as it means an awkward or clumsy youth. Just what a clumsy person needs, people throwing weird words at them.
3. Adscititious
While this a mouthful, the definition of the word is rather simple. It means forming an addition or supplement.
4. Bezoar
Die-hard Harry Potter fans might be the only people who know what this word means. A bezoar is a small stony concretion that may form in the stomachs of certain animals and was used as a cure for certain ailments.
5. Curmudgeon
Everyone knows at least one curmudgeon. It means a bad-tempered or surly person. But be careful who you use the word around, you would not want them thinking you are using foul language around them.
6. Psithurism
Have you ever heard the wind blowing through tree, the rustling through the leaves and wondered if there was a special word for it? Well this is exactly what psithurism stands for, despite it being a mouthful.
