Stop keeping busy to avoid your feelings

Sadly, too many of us learn, at a rather young age, to stuff feelings down deep. Those feelings still live on in our bodies. We often stuff them so deeply that we don’t necessarily know they exist, unless we are paying attention. Whether you recognise it or not, I assure you those feelings are still having a profound impact on your life.

They follow you around. Your feelings don’t keep you from being all that you can be. They don’t keep you from getting what you want.
Your avoidance of them does. Feelings left unresolved in our bodies result in disease; mental, physical, and spiritual.

At some point, despite running, the feelings you so desperately try to avoid catch up with you. You may be angry and hurt, from feelings left over from your childhood. Bottling those feelings result in low, if not a lack of self-worth. Not knowing your value, means you invite further pain and anger later on in life.

You will reach a point where you no longer have the energy to run; try to befriend those difficult feelings. This will teach you to be present in your own pain and anger. Life is a mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Everyone has a story to tell, some may have experienced bullying, while others may have experienced neglect or trauma. We all have faced or yet to face loss and other painful experiences.

Stop keeping busy to avoid your feelings.

Pay attention to the ways in which you avoid yourself, your thoughts and your feelings.
