Danceology in the park

GERMAN philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, is quoted as saying, “We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.”

With members of Danceology, as well as non-members and parents of keen young dancers, who gathered in the Market Square Park, last Saturday morning was certainly not lost.

Nadine Pillay, a local Psychological Counsellor and Dance Instructor, who combined her talents and love of dance and psychology to create ‘Danceology,’ a form of therapy through dance, described the event as, “transforming spaces with positive interactions.”

Like dancing, according to Nietzsche, time spent outdoors is also never wasted and can have some major physical and mental benefits and Nadine is encouraging the community to embrace this and to utilise the enrichment this outdoor activity has to offer.

Danceology in the Park’ is likely to become a regular event on the community calendar and parents are encouraged to bring their children and enjoy the opportunity to dance with nature and indulge in a morning in the park.
