Women are ‘pretty powerful’

Never let fear hold you back.

Women empowerment often sparks the negative connotation of feminism.

However, at a recent ABSA-hosted event, the term was allowed to coalesce into so much more.

It meant hope, unity, support, and more importantly, motivation.

There have been too many instances of women being sidelined for promotion based solely on their gender. Women are, historically, considered to be the ‘weaker’ sex.

And yet, without women, would there even be society?

Yes, we sometimes struggle to open jars. Yes, we may not be all that adept at chasing goggas out of the house. And yes, we tend to speak from a core of emotion.

But is that a bad thing?

Life, according to some of the greatest motivational speakers, is all about balance.

And who knows that better than a woman?

We have to be strong when times are tough. We have to pick ourselves up and continue, even when we are being held down. We have to support our families, while at the same time juggling the responsibilities of being a parent/employer/employee/student/caretaker/wife/daughter.

It’s an endless balancing act.

So yes, women are pretty powerful.

The overwhelming message of the day was this:

Stand together, stand strong, and don’t be afraid to chase your dreams!
