Newcastle 911 and The Campbells welcome spring

Dubbed as South Africa's favourite Afrikaans duo, The Campbells were made famous with their hit songs Bietjie Bietjie Lam, and Rooi Rok Bokkie to name a few.

FARMERS HALL – Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum hosted a fund-raising autumn dance on Friday, September 2 at the Farmers Hall.

About 1000 people attended the event where popular country singers, The Campbells performed.

Dubbed as South Africa’s favourite Afrikaans duo, The Campbells were made famous with their hit songs Bietjie Bietjie Lam, and Rooi Rok Bokkie to name a few.

Tillie Kirkland, founder of Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum said: “This dance is to raise funds to aid the community in fighting crime. It is also a fun way for the community to unite and socialise”

Attendees were encouraged to bring their own refreshments and snacks while they enjoyed live entertainment.

“All proceeds of the show will contribute towards the training and response of the Newcastle 911 Community Policing Forum team,” concluded Mrs Kirkland.
