Child criminals, Home Affairs and the World Cup all made headlines

Child criminals made headlines as shocking statistics revealed that children from as young as 9, were involved in crimes.
The youngsters, under the supervision of adults, were responsible for numerous crimes in the area. These ranged from house break-ins to drugs and even rape.

World Cup fever was building as the 2006 edition of the tournament was due to kick off that Friday. Charlies Spar employees predicted that Germany and Brazil would contest the final…sadly they were wrong.

Home Affairs officials were still operating out of a mobile truck but received good news that they would receive a status upgrade to that of District Office.
Regional Representatives within the Department confirmed that they were looking at vacant offices to move the Home Affairs into.

Theft of cars from the CBD and residential areas continued.

In school sporting news, Sarel dominated the Derby Day once again.
The Blue Lions won the main match 33-7.
