Vryheid SPCA adoption fees increase

Adopting a pet from the SPCA means that you do not pay for the animal itself, but only for a percentage of what it costs to have it sterilized, vaccinated and dewormed.

“Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.”— Dean Koontz

Vryheid SPCA has several cats and dogs available for adoption. Adopting a pet from the SPCA means that you do not pay for the animal itself, but only for a percentage of what it costs to have it sterilized, vaccinated and dewormed.
Inevitable increases in veterinary service fees, necessitated a rise in the adoption fees.

“The increase may seem drastic, but our fees remained static for several years,” stated Natalie Meyer, Vryheid SPCA’s Treasurer, on social media. “In comparison with buying a pet and having it sterilized and innoculated privately, you will find our prices are still very low.”
