Hindi Pracharni Sabha (HPS) has had much to celebrate in its centenary year.

Last year in the build-up to the centenary, an executive committee was elected to supervise renovations to the temple.

Through hard work, dedication and the assistance of various sub-committees, the temple’s renovations are finally complete.

Rosh Singh thanked Ramesh Seebrath who was on site everyday.

“Not only was he there to supervise, but to do certain aspects of work himself in order to ensure the building would be completed as he envisaged,” Mrs Singh said.

Ashwin Seebrath, owner of Tazoe Construction, was also thanked, for not only providing free labour for the entire building project, but for being on site on a daily basis as part of his commitment to this organisation.

“The community must also be thanked and commended for the continuous support and donations.”

With the completion of the temple, a prayer called the Pran Patista Stapanam was said to re-install the murthis.

“All the pundits from the Shree Sanathan Dharma Purohit Mandal and devotees gathered every morning, midday and evening for special prayers for six days.”

Recently, the murthis were transported and taken on parade through Lennoxton, Fernwood and Paradise, accompanied by pundits and devotees who drove in convoy accompanied by traffic officers.

The murthis were finally installed into their respective positions on Friday morning, July 31. Many residents gathered to participate in this auspicious occasion.

The week-long event ended with the special Junda prayer on Saturday, August 1.

A total of 2304 mantras were chanted during this period. The temple committee expressed their thanks and appreciation to the dedicated pundits and members of the community for their time and contribution during the memorable period of the HPS.

The community is invited to attend the satsang every Tuesday from 6pm to 7pm.
