Spoil your loved one at Shepstone Place this Valentine’s Day

Why not spoil your loved one with a sumptuous supper and support a worthy local organisation on Valentine's Day?

Valentine’s Day is a day when the world concentrates on love. Gifts and dinners are bought to continue the tradition of the day, which has been a part of society for centuries. With this in mind, why not spoil your loved one with a sumptuous supper and support a worthy local organisation on Valentine’s Day?

This is made possible by the Shepstone Place Home for the Aged committee that is planning a Valentine’s Dinner for the public on February 14. This popular annual event is part of the Home’s fundraising initiatives. Tickets for the dinner are R120 per person and a cash bar will be available. Limited seats are available and residents are encouraged to book their tickets by Monday, February 9.

Call Debbie Potgieter on 036 352 2191 on Mondays to Fridays between 8am and 1pm. The dinner will begin by 6.30pm for 7pm. The Home’s residents will celebrate the day of love in the morning and the public can enjoy a delicious meal and camaraderie in the evening.Debbie Potgieter from Shepstone Place says that the committee is hoping to raise about R10 000.

“The money we receive from this fundraiser goes to the improvement of the Home. We replace much-needed items like linen, crockery and cutlery and in some cases we do maintenance work. We also need to buy commodes, which are the toilets we place in the resident’s rooms at night,” explained Mrs Potgieter. She added that the Valentine’s Dinners have always been successful with many residents returning year after year.In addition to the meal, there will be a raffle and lucky draw prizes.
