Editor's note

Thank you to hospital staff

To Sister Thabethe, who will walk the long road together with my wife to full wound recovery, I have nothing but admiration.

Editor – I have run my fair share of negative stories regarding La Verna Hospital over the years.
But I never want it said that all I ever write is negative stories.
When my wife was admitted to La Verna last Sunday, my heart sank. All the old horror stories replayed themselves in my mind.
Wow, how wrong I was: the competence of Dr Mulla, Dr de Bruin and the nursing staff has made me re-evaluate my opinion of the hospital.
While I know nothing is ever perfect, I cannot praise them enough.
Yes, I have medical aid, but that does not make staff go the extra mile.

It is a passion for the job and to all the staff who treated my wife, I say thank you!

To Sister Thabethe, who will walk the long road together with my wife to full wound recovery, I have nothing but admiration.
Also a big thank you to Dr Sardiwalla, who showed my wife that diabetes is not a death sentence. No one is ever happy in hospital, but at least my wife’s stay was made bearable.
