This will come as a collective sigh of relief or many, as Umtshezi is infamous for flare-ups of political violence, many of which have been fatal.

With a sombre change of subject, this week we saw the tragic deaths of five school children in Rietvlei near Mooi River. 29 children were on their way to school when the bakkie plunged into a farm dam.
This tragedy has shone the light on scholar transport safety, which hopefully won’t be momentary.
