All is not what it seems

Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing! In the middle of February someone sent us this picture and claimed “This is absolutely amazing an angel over Vryheid…” and we agreed. But something “didn’t add up” so we didn’t publish the picture. We presume the sender then sent it to our sister newspaper, the Newcastle Advertiser, who did publish the picture last week, saying it was taken in Vryheid. They even awarded the sender a prize! Then they discovered the picture is a hoax, it wasn’t taken of the sky over Vryheid. In fact, Google “Angel in the sky” and you’ll find this very picture and some variations of this picture. Please, folks, keep it real.
