Members of the Treverton athletics team took part in the ‘Aquelle Schools Meet’ in Pietermaritzburg recently. With 18 schools competing, it was a shortened programme due to it being a night league event.
The events that took place were: javelin, long jump, 3000m, 800m and 200m.
The following athletes achieved outstanding/podium results in their age groups:
Kai Broom – first in 800m and second in 3000m.
Tejah Balie – second in 800m and second in 3000m.
Willow Crawford – third in 800m and third in 3000m.
All three achieved third overall for the evening in their age groups.
Georgina Thompson – first 3000m.
Sienna Marx – first in javelin.
Hailey Jelliman – second in long jump.
Andre Honiball – third in javelin.
The Open Girls’ Team won the 4×100m relay event at the end of the evening.
Treverton had other good results, but the ones mentioned were the stand-out achievements.
