Vryheid Country Club came alive with good music, good food and lots of fun and laughter on Saturday as golfers from far and wide came into town to be part of Hoërskool Pioneer’s golf day.
Although the wind was slightly chilly, Vryheid’s weather granted clear blue skies to welcome all the guests who had poured into town to get a piece of the action.
Following last year’s very successful golf day, Pioneer decided to host a second one this year and the level of support they were shown was proof that this was indeed a great move.
The school’s Johanna Botha said that the school is highly grateful to all the people who gave their time and money towards ensuring that the event was a great success.
“The parents, teachers and sponsors always really go above and beyond to ensure that the event is a success. We are grateful to the parents who dedicated their time towards ensuring that the venue looked amazing. It is these moments where everyone just joins hands to make sure things work that make one really grateful to be a part of the Pioneer family,” she said.
More than 130 tee’d off at Vryheid Country Club this past weekend and Pioneer is hoping to see more in the coming years.
Having always hosted the Biltongfees in Dundee in previous years, the school decided to switch things up and bring their annual fundraising event home.
“This is the second time we have held the Golf Day in place of the Biltongfees as part of our annual fundraising for the school and we don’t regret bringing it back home,” said Johanna.
