A busy week at Weenen Primêr

The winning team was Eland and they also won the spirit cup for their amazing spirit throughout the gala

From entertainment to sport to anti-bullying, the children at Weenen Primêr had their time cut out last week.

Sibusiso from ‘Ingoje Performers’ kept grades RR to seven enthralled as he juggled, made shapes out of balloons and did many tricks that had the children puzzled!

Grade fives were also taught how to blow up the balloons correctly and make them into their own shapes.

This was certainly worthwhile for all concerned. Our senior inter-house gala that had been postponed took place on Wednesday morning amidst great excitement.

The children were extremely well behaved and did their houses proud as they ‘swam their hearts out’.

The winning team was Eland and they also won the spirit cup for their amazing spirit throughout the gala.

The Junior Victor Lodorum was won by Connor Clarke, the Senior Victor Ladorum by Thami Dladla and the Senior Vicrtrix Lodorum was won by Lindelwa Phungula.

Our Anti-Bully Fridays continue and this past Friday was no exception when the assembly was presented by Mrs Dreyer and her grade one class – the message being that each one of us is made differently and no-one has a right to come into our space by bullying us in any way.

The children, staff and many parents wear their WPS Rhino T-shirts on this day to show that we take a stand against bullying in every way – whether it be bullying of animals or people.

With all this excitement in the air, the children and staff at Weenen Primêr continue to commit themselves to a strong culture of teaching and learning.
